November 24, 2000. Demolition of slums near Ghatkopar Station, East, took place this morning. The demolition squad along with one bull-dozer and lots of police were spotted in the morning at around 9:30 am. According to local sources, these huts were to be demolished long back, but hadn't been done. Lot of bystanders were seen along with the people who were staying in these places. All the luggages of these huts, including beds and cots were seen lying on the stones and the unused tracks besides the station.
