"Health is Wealth" so is the famous proverb that
usually everybody uses when the question of health arises. We also find that there are
many books and articles with reference to health that keep being published. Some of the
articles and books are quite interesting and to the point with a good scientific base, but
there are also some which have very little benefits.
Being an Ayurvedic practitioner, I personally feel that good health is a prime factor and
should not be ignored as far as good living is concerned. Ayurveda emphasizes on good
health. Therefore, when you learn Ayurveda you first learn all the different aspects
because of which good health can be maintained, then you learn how to prevent diseases and
lastly you learn the cure for the different diseases you suffer.
If a person lives his
life as per the Ayurvedic texts, as per the given rules and regulations put up in these
texts, there is no question as to why he or she should suffer from diseases. Such people
will always manage to keep themselves in a good shape. If a person wants to remain fit and
in good health, he has to follow certain disciplines throughout his life. For example: his
sleeping habits, his eating habits etc.
Ayurveda has gone deep as far as health is concerned.
Ayurveda gives very minute details as to how a person should lead his day to day life.
According to Ayurveda a person should get up early in the morning a little before the sun
rises, he should then complete his toilet habits, brush his teeth, clean his nose, eyes,
ears, have a nice bath, do exercises everyday, eat his food at an appropriate time, the
variety of food should vary according to the seasons, not
just this, Ayurveda has also advised about the clothes that varies according to the seasons.
It also describes the method of cooking because each item of food requires a specific way
of cooking with special spice and proportions. All these thing and a lot more if followed
properly can help a person lead a long and healthy life.
Man has always been of selfish, possessive character. He doesn't like to part with any of
his possessions. But the true form of wealth is health for which he should strive for his
whole life. He should be selfish for his health rather than his worldly desires. Because
with good health he is going to attain the goal of his life.
"So remain healthy and be a truly wealthy person."
